Required ID
It’s the law; you need current ID to vote. Every voter, upon appearing at the polling place to vote on Election Day, is required to announce his or her full name and current address and to provide proof of the their identity. Accepted forms of ID include:

  • A current and valid photo Ohio driver's license, state ID card, or the interim identification form issued by the Bureau of Motor vehicles
  • A current and valid U.S. passport photo ID or passport card photo ID
  • A current and valid U.S. military photo ID card, Ohio National Guard photo ID card, or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs photo ID card

Voters who do not provide one of these documents at the precinct will still be able to vote using a provisional ballot.
